PR
The Public Relations (PR) committee is responsible for all things revolving around the marketing of UPF Lund and therefore manages the Association’s social media channels and the website. UPF Lund can be found on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube.
There, you will find information about upcoming events, live behind the scenes footage of the daily workings of committees, as well as the archives of what the Association has done in the past! We use the Adobe suite and other apps to design promotional content like cover images, videos, posters, and merchandise, and are present at all UPF Lund happenings for photography and social media coverage. The PR committee works closely with all other committees on a weekly basis to help with creative projects and keep our members informed about the interesting things they are working on.
PR committee members learn about and work on content creation, graphic design projects, social media coordination, and photography. This also means that members are encouraged to give their input on design matters, take over social media channel responsibilities, and if they feel up for it, take the lead on their own creative projects!

Ella Hellerup
Head of PR & Board Member
Hello,
My name is Ella and I’m one of the heads of the PR committee. I’m 22 years old, originally from Stockholm but moved to Lund two years ago to study a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Politics and Economics.
I’ve always been fascinated by how politics, society, and communication intertwine, shaping the world around us. My academic interests range from international relations to social justice issues, and I love diving deep into how political decisions impact everyday lives. UPF provides a platform where I can combine my academic interests with my love for creative storytelling and community-building. Being part of this organisation allows me to learn, grow, and contribute to conversations that matter, while also connecting with inspiring individuals who share my curiosity for the world.
Jaara (Yara) Chifka

Hi!
I’m Yara, one of the Heads of the Public Relations Committee for the 2024-2025 operational year. I am currently in my final year of a master’s degree (MSc) in Global Studies with a major in Political Science at Lund University, after earning my bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. I come from a multicultural background – being born and raised in Finland, I have Palestinian and Syrian roots. My academic studies and multicultural background have greatly shaped my worldview and deepened my understanding of diverse cultural dynamics. These experiences have sparked my passion for foreign/global affairs and driven my interest in areas such as the MENA region, socio-political issues, international development, and colonial and post-colonial studies.
My journey with UPF began in the Travel Committee, which later transitioned to becoming a Social Media Trustee in the Public Relations Committee due to my passion for graphic design and digital communication. I have also gained practical experience through different internships, including at the United Nations and as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Advanced Middle Eastern Studies (CMES), which have further strengthened my commitment to international development and foreign affairs.
As Head of PR, I aim to bring creative and strategic engagement to enhance our outreach efforts. I’m excited to bring out UPF’s voice even stronger across our social media platforms and apply my expertise in graphic design and communications, and highlighting the dynamic work of the association.
