PR

The Public Relations (PR) committee is responsible for all things revolving around the marketing of UPF Lund and therefore manages the Association’s social media channels and the website. UPF Lund can be found on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube.

There, you will find information about upcoming events, live behind the scenes footage of the daily workings of committees, as well as the archives of what the Association has done in the past! We use the Adobe suite and other apps to design promotional content like cover images, videos, posters, and merchandise, and are present at all UPF Lund happenings for photography and social media coverage. The PR committee works closely with all other committees on a weekly basis to help with creative projects and keep our members informed about the interesting things they are working on.

PR committee members learn about and work on content creation, graphic design projects, social media coordination, and photography. This also means that members are encouraged to give their input on design matters, take over social media channel responsibilities, and if they feel up for it, take the lead on their own creative projects!

The PR Committee meets every Monday, 19-20 at the UPF office.

Meet the PR Committee

Wera Hänsch

My name is Wera and I’m one of the heads of the PR committee, and also a board member. I’m 22 years old, originally from Uppsala but moved to Lund three years ago. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Lund University and have just started my Master’s in Development Studies.

In high school I was responsible for the PR committee, and I wanted to continue that interest in Lund, and therefore joined UPF. For me, communication is a way to spread awareness and inspire debate on important global issues. I am especially interested in how wars shape and challenge the international community. Through my role, I hope to make UPF’s work visible and engaging for both students and the wider community. This while also creating a space where people feel encouraged to take part in discussions and reflect on global affairs together.

Akvile Ramanauskaite

My name is Akvile, and I’m from Lithuania. I currently serve as one of the Heads of the PR Committee at UPF Lund. I hold a BA in Scandinavian Studies from Vilnius University, specializing in Swedish language and social sciences. Building on this academic foundation, I’m now pursuing a Master of Science in International Development and Management (LUMID) at Lund University.

Having lived in multiple countries and being fluent in several languages, I have developed an interdisciplinary perspective that I’m eager to bring into community engagement. This was one of the main reasons I joined UPF Lund.

I’m passionate about intercultural dialogue and strongly believe that effective and critical communication is essential for promoting sustainability and social integration. Looking ahead, I aim to pursue a career in policy consulting and advisory roles, with a focus on promoting peacebuilding initiatives and bridging gaps between communities.

Working at UPF Lund provides an opportunity to put these values into practice by promoting the importance of foreign affairs, engaging audiences from different cultural and professional backgrounds, and explaining complex international issues in ways that inspire dialogue and collaboration.
